About sdx1.net
sdx1.net is a simple website for archiving useful and interesting things. In an age of blogs, forums, wikis, subreddits, imageboards, and social networks controlled by massive data-mining conglomerates, it's nice to control a tiny, simple, untracked, compatible, anachronistic piece of the internet, armed with a text editor and an FTP client. Especially on a four-letter dot net domain.
The Name
It's a reference to the naming scheme for hard drives on modern Linux systems - disk X (#25), partition 1 would be /dev/sdx1.
Design Goals
- Readability on any platform - even IE6, or your favorite text editor
- Elegance - beautiful websites can be small
- Security - no scripting when avoidable, either in PHP or JS
- Independence - everything loads from my server (or your hard drive)
